CTG is seeking to fill an Engineering Technician position for our client.
**Location:** Yorktown, NY
**Duration:** Ongoing contract
Overview:
The Quantum Assembly Lab (QAL) is looking for a first-shift Engineering Technician to support hands-on fabrication and assembly work for quantum computing hardware. This role sits at the intersection of research and manufacturing and is ideal for someone who enjoys precise, manual work in a cleanroom environment and wants to contribute directly to cutting-edge quantum technology.
The QAL team develops advanced packaging solutions for quantum computing systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary technical teams, including the Microelectronics Research Lab (MRL) and the Albany Nanotech Lab (ANT), supporting semiconductor-style processes used to create components for quantum computers.
Responsibilities
+ Execute semiconductor-like processing steps to fabricate and assemble quantum computing components
+ Perform photolithography, thin film processing, wet chemical processing, metrology, dicing, and bonding in a cleanroom environment
+ Handle small, delicate parts with exceptional care and precision using primarily manual and flexible tooling
+ Follow detailed process documentation while also contributing to continuous improvement of lab practices
+ Support experimental work and prototype development for research and technology projects
+ Maintain cleanroom protocols, safety standards, and excellent sample handling practices
+ Collaborate effectively with engineers, researchers, and technicians across multiple teams
+ Document work, observations, and process results clearly and accurately
Required Qualifications
+ **US Citizenship is required for this position**
+ Associate’s degree or technical training in engineering, electronics, materials science, semiconductor processing, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
+ Experience working in a cleanroom or laboratory environment
+ Strong manual dexterity and comfort working with very small, fragile components
+ Familiarity with at least some of the following: photolithography, thin films, wet chemistry, metrology, dicing, or bonding
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to follow precise procedures while adapting to evolving research needs
+ Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented, diverse environment
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous experience in semiconductor fabrication or advanced research labs
+ Experience supporting R&D or prototype development
+ Comfort working with non-automated tools and flexible processes
+ Strong documentation and communication skills

+ First shift
+ On-site role based in Yorktown Heights, NY
