Full-time, Day/Night Shift, (2) 8-hour shifts, 2 12-hour shifts per week. Hours are 7 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., 7 a.m.- 7:30 p.m., or 7 p.m.- 7:30 a.m. Rotating weekends and holidays.

Purpose:
Responsible for the proper storage and distribution of drugs; receives and accounts for drugs coming from all vendors. Delivers medications to patient care and other areas; picks up drug returns and applicable paperwork; and puts all returned unit-dose products back to proper receipts. Responsible for filling patient drug boxes, floor stock orders, and automated dispensing cabinets. Assists Pharmacists as directed. Maintains daily report.
Responsibilities:
+ Accurately fills floor stock request.
+ Prepare correct labeling for bulk drugs.
+ Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations.
+ Basic understanding of the concept of physical stability and chemical stability as it relates to parenteral pharmaceuticals.
+ Correctly interpret physician orders and can distinguish between pharmaceutical orders, laboratory tests, radiology, nursing, and other orders.
+ Perform monthly medication storage area inspections.
+ Selects drugs from stock in proper dose, dosage form, and quantity as ordered by the physician under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
+ Understands microbial contamination and exhibits Aseptic Technique while preparing sterile pharmaceutical products.
+ Repackages drugs into a unit-of-use container.
+ Education and Formal Training Required: High school graduate or equivalent required.
+ Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
+ Must be familiar with a typewriter keyboard and demonstrate the ability by producing a neat, accurate, and legible copy.
+ The candidate must have the ability to adapt to the computerized Pharmacy Information Systems utilized.
