Join our surgical team at UPMC Mercy Pavilion! This Clinician role supports daily operations in SDS and Pavilion OR, assists staff in rooms, and maintains surgeon preferences.

+ Demonstrates leadership in clinical nursing by fostering positive relationships, mentoring colleagues, and promoting cultural diversity and respectful communication. Supports safe work practices, time management, and healthy lifestyles.
+ Applies performance improvement tools to enhance care quality and work environments, sharing best practices across units. Actively mentors and educates nurses at all levels, serving as a preceptor and role model for continuous learning.
+ Aligns daily work with organizational goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction. Builds compassionate, healing relationships and disseminates innovations through presentations and publications.
+ Uses Relationship Based Care and critical thinking to address the clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively to ensure comprehensive documentation and coordinated care.
+ Leads change initiatives, supports staff through transitions, and participates in shared leadership. Assumes formal roles in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and onboarding, contributing to staff development and evaluations.
+ Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, including OR experience; ENT or Eye experience is a plus
+ BSN required; if BS is not in nursing, a Master's or higher in Nursing is required
+ Master's degree preferred
+ Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse
+ Skilled in age-specific patient care and interpreting developmental needs
+ Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
+ Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment with specialized equipment
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across teams
+ Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning
+ Licensure & Certifications:
+ Current RN license in practicing state or multistate NLC license
+ CPR certification (AHA standards) within 30 days of hire
+ National certification preferred
+ Act 34 clearance required
