    Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of our plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and optimizing production, requiring a thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the plant's infrastructure, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including general building upkeep.

    + Address and resolve issues related to facility maintenance in a timely manner.

    + Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all facility-related activities.

    + Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

    + Maintain and update maintenance logs and records for mechanical systems.

    + Assist in the installation of new mechanical equipment and systems.

    + Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.

    + Follow electrical safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

    + Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for facility, mechanical, and electrical systems.

    + Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.

    + Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

    + Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

    + Participate in safety training and drills.

    + Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

    + Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

    + Work closely with other maintenance team members, production staff, and management to coordinate maintenance activities.

    + Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations and minimal disruption to production.

    + Provide support and training to junior technicians as needed.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

    + Familiarity with chemical manufacturing processes and equipment.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

    + Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.

    + Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial electrical maintenance preferred.

    + Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical experience, preferably in a chemical or process plant or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Must pass drug screening as required.

    + Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a manufacturing plant environment, which may involve exposure to chemicals, fumes, excessive heat, and loud noises. The role requires lifting and carrying heavy objects, such as equipment components and chemical containers, weighing up to 100 pounds or more. Agility and flexibility are essential, as the job involves moving around the plant, climbing stairs, ladders (up to 140’), and platforms. The technician must be able to work in confined spaces and awkward positions to access equipment and perform tasks. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are necessary for operating machinery and handling small tools. Physical endurance for standing for extended periods, sometimes in uncomfortable conditions, is required. Candidates must be in good physical health and able to withstand exposure to hazardous substances with proper PPE, including masks or respirators. Adequate vision and hearing are necessary to detect equipment malfunctions and communicate effectively. Safety protocols, including the use of PPE and fall protection, must be strictly followed.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richburg, SC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
