Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team in Richmond, VA. Relocation assistance available within the US.
This role is essential in driving our Eaton Business System (EBS), enabling waste -out, improving flow and supporting our journey towards words class operational performance. As a CI engineer, you will partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Leadership to identify, prioritize and execute improvement activities that advance safety, quality, delivery, cost and digital enablement across site. This role is a key contributor to building organizational capability and strengthening Eaton’s culture of continuous improvement.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,750 - $137,500 a year.

What you’ll do:
+ Drive Eaton Business System (EBS) and Continuous improvement framework (ECIS)
+ Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology and structured problem solving tools (A3, DMAIC, 8D, RCCA) to eliminate waste and strengthen process capability.
+ Lead & coach operational improvement events - Kaizen, Gemba, rapid improvement events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard work deployment, Material flow optimization and 5S+ activities with multi-functional teams from concept to implementation.
+ Support OpEx strategy deployment aligned to High 5 metrics.
+ Support annual profit planning activities, capacity walk inputs and waste-out project pipelines.
+ Identification & Execution of CI project delivering measurable cost savings, best practice sharing, productivity gains and efficiency improvements across value streams or transactional processes.
+ Train, coach and influence cross functional teams in Lean tools and CI behaviors
+ Initiate, develop, and lead capital improvement projects including manufacturing equipment, facility enhancements and new product start-ups.
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
+ Two (2) years of experience combined in either manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, operations management

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering
+ 3+ years’ experience combined in either manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, operations management
+ Experience in high mix/Low volume, ETO/CTO manufacturing environment
+ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
+ Experience with SAP, MRP systems and data visualization software
Position Success Criteria:
+ Knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes including assembly and pull systems.
+ Technical understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems and Six Sigma methodology.
+ Ability to think strategically and see big picture in dynamic business environment
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment; to communicate articulately and professionally across many organizational levels and functions
+ Highly motivated, works with a sense of urgency, driven to add value and deliver results
