    Job Description

    The Technician II, under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering or scientific techniques used in research or support laboratories.

     

    Responsibilities:-Independently pursues an assigned series of processes, procedures, or area of research in accordance with general approved plans and procedures-Plans and executes procedures and work details-Evaluates and analyzes results-Constructs, modifies, adapts, assembles, and operates scientific and laboratory apparatus and equipment-Uses computer equipment for controlling equipment and compiling data-Makes and records observations and measurements-Summarizes and evaluates data for scientific materials requiring academic knowledge-Research and catalog reference materials requiring understanding of subject matter theory-Plans and supervises technical operations

     

    -Assist with the collection, processing, and archiving of plant, soil, and water samples related to ongoing research projects

     

    -Collect, transcribe, and organize data from the various measurements of research samples

     

    -Other duties as required.

     

    Required Education and Experience:-High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.-Three years of related experience.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    -Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.

     

    -Ability to ensure attention to detail.

     

    -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

     

    -Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
