    Job Title: Building Services Manager** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Manager of Building Services to join our headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois. This role is pivotal in supporting the evolving needs of our Building Operations department. The successful candidate will manage various 3rd party service providers, including food service and utilities, and play a leading role in designing and expanding our sustainability program. This position oversees a team of three staff members.

    Responsibilities

    + Act as the primary point of contact for office-related needs, facilitating communication about office changes and updates.

    + Participate in new hire orientations, preparing offices and workstations, conducting tours, and reviewing Building Operations Policy.

    + Process departing employees' office transitions, including packing and shipping personal items as needed.

    + Monitor building conditions to ensure high-quality workspaces, suggesting improvements as necessary.

    + Oversee furniture-related projects, from planning and budgeting to design and installation.

    + Collaborate with HR and IT for internal office moves.

    + Ensure staff break areas are properly stocked and presentable in collaboration with a 3rd party food service provider.

    + Manage staff dry cleaning operations.

    + Work closely with IT to ensure all technology is operational for presentations and meetings.

    + Maintain copier/printer stations and manage monthly meter reads.

    + Develop and implement sustainability initiatives in partnership with the SVP of Operations & Sustainability.

    + Manage sustainability-related contractor engagements and track related metrics.

    + Oversee weekly meetings with the contracted food service team to improve operational efficiency.

    + Evaluate kitchen equipment needs and manage the food service budget.

    + Gather staff feedback to enhance the café experience and support food service operations for Training Camp activities.

    + Procure and manage vendors, overseeing annual contract negotiations.

    + Facilitate contract reviews through the internal legal system.

    + Maintain and update the Building Operations Policy Manual.

    + Review and approve utility-related payments.

    + Identify and implement administrative process improvements.

    + Manage inventory of office supplies and support visitor management systems.

    + Represent Building Operations in bi-weekly events meetings.

    + Oversee the development and performance feedback of direct reports.

    + Participate in leadership and development opportunities.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree in related field or a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience.

    + Strong interpersonal skills to interface effectively with staff, guests, and vendors.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Collaborative service approach and commitment to teamwork.

    + Attention to detail and process improvement.

    + Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

    + Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with data management and reporting preferred.

    + General experience reading building plans and blueprints preferred.

    + Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.

    Work Environment

    The role is based at a 38-acre complex, housing the headquarters for an internationally known sports team. The facilities include four outdoor practice fields, a training center with indoor turf space, an auditorium, conference rooms, a media courtyard, a ballroom, sports operations facilities, locker rooms, and sports medicine space. The complex also features a running and cycling path, and racquetball and basketball courts.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Lake Forest, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
