Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position serves a dual role in providing direct administrative and program management support to the Urban Institute and Data Trust as the Data Research Coordinator, which includes assisting with monitoring and tracking of Urban Institute research and Data Trust projects, governance documents, and governance procedures and policies
The Data and Research Coordinator assists the Associate Director of the Data Trust in the administration and day-to-day management and compliance processes of the Data Trust. This position oversees key data governance processes, including data requests and reviews, and data sharing. This position is also responsible for the management of key strategic programs. This position is a key point of contact for multiple stakeholders for the Data Trust and strategic programs and assists with administrative tasks, as needed. This position will conduct research related to the Institute’s research agenda.
Minimum Experience / Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of experience in social science research; or
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ Experience managing complex programs with multiple stakeholders.
+ Experience in coordinating and managing social science research projects, data collection and management, statistical analysis, and reporting.
+ Strong organizational as well as oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
+ Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
+ Experience with large databases at the national, state, and local levels.
+ Proficiency in data analysis and/or management software such as SAS , SPSS , R, STATA , or GIS
+ Experience with training and/or communicating complex information to multiple types of audiences.
+ Knowledge of federal laws pertaining to the usage of individual data, including HIPAA and FERPA
+ Familiarity with health and human services.
+ Preferred degree specialization in social science fields such as education, social work, or public health.
+ Experience handling sensitive information.
