• Firmware Engineer

    Actalent (St. Paul, MN)


    We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to be an independent contributor for our team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement embedded software in C/C++ for custom boards

     

    Validate board functionality, stand up systems, and prepare for field testing

     

    Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues.

     

    Work with BLE beacons and other RF technologies such as LoRa and Zigbee.

     

    Collaborate with electrical engineers and cross-functional teams

     

    Operate independently while ensuring timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

     

    10+ years of experience in embedded systems development.

     

    Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded platforms.

     

    Experience with FreeRTOS or Bare Metal

     

    Familiarity with RF technologies (BLE, LoRa, Zigbee).

     

    Knowledge of hardware fundamentals; experience with Silicon Labs microcontrollers preferred.

    Preferred Skills:

    Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.

     

    Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

     

    Experience in fast-moving projects with tight timelines.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $68.00/hr.
