Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our team in Newton, Massachusetts. This role focuses on corporate tax and accounting tasks, requiring a strong understanding of tax regulations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing tax returns, managing journal entries, and maintaining accurate general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Review and process sales tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Record and adjust journal entries to reflect accurate financial transactions.

• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure all tax-related deadlines are met.

• Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and financial information.

• Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

• Support other accounting functions as needed, including reporting and analysis.

Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.

• Proficiency in managing sales tax processes and filings.

• Solid understanding of general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.

• Expertise in recording and adjusting journal entries.

• Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.

• Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
