Position Summary/Description:
This is an opportunity to join a tissue engineering and surgical innovations research laboratory in the Department of Urology supported by PI, Dr. Renea Sturm as a Postdoc Research Associate. Dr. Sturm is a surgeon-scientist who practices as a pediatric urologist and has additional training in regenerative medicine and medtech entrepreneurship. The Sturm lab is dedicated to working collaboratively with engineering and cell biology colleagues to achieve basic science and technological breakthroughs that can be translated to improve equity, quality, and consistency in urologic care. Our particular emphasis is achieving this aim for children who require complex lower urinary tract reconstructive procedures for congenital conditions.
The Responsibilities of this Postdoc Research Associate include:
- Will report directly to the Principal Investigator, meeting regularly to review data and updates.
-Will successfully carry out experiments and analyze generated data with minimal benchtop supervision.
- Will function as an effective collaborator on the research team, supervising graduate and undergraduate students, and supporting the lab’s research technician.
- Will assist in preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
- Will assist in preparing grant proposals.
Education and Experience:
-Additional training in either biomaterials, or image processing and computational modeling is preferred.
