Position Summary
The current vacancy is in the Lake Owasso department. The eligibility list created by this vacancy may be used to hire other vacancies in the department or County.
To clean and care for the Lake Owasso Residence; to replenish supplies in patient rooms and other assigned areas; and to perform related duties as assigned.
This role involves general grounds and seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice removal, basic lawn care, and occasional planting or clean-ups. It also includes safely operating equipment, keeping outdoor areas clear of debris, and reporting any hazards or needed repairs and other duties as needed.

Examples of Work Performed
+ Promote a diverse, culturally competent, and respectful workplace.
+ Clean, disinfect and polish floors by damp dusting, stripping, wet mopping, scrubbing, waxing and buffing using appropriate supplies and equipment.
+ Dispose of trash by bagging it and placing it in a trash chute or incinerator.
+ Keep assigned areas clean by moving and polishing furniture, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning carpeting, washing walls, windows fixtures, door knobs and handrails.
+ Prepare for cleaning rounds by filling supply cart with needed cleaners, towels, rags, mops and replenishment of supplies such as soap, toilet paper and paper towels.
+ Bring soiled laundry to soiled linen room by collecting laundry from hampers, placing in a laundry cart and pushing cart to linen room.
+ Log non-daily duties completed; reports or issues work repair orders where needed.
+ Operate self-powered floor care machines such as a buffer and a stripper to clean, strip, scrub, wax and buff floors.
+ Provide daily work direction to handicapped students as assigned.
+ Maintain an inventory of all supplies and equipment related to housekeeping duties and re-orders supplies as needed.
+ Shovel snow from front entrances.

Exam/Screening Process Information
The examination process will consist of the following section with each section weighted as indicated:
+ Training and Experience Rating = 100%
The recruitment for Custodian will consist of questions listed in the supplemental questionnaire. Please answer all your questions clearly and completely.
Eligible List: The names of all applicants who have submitted a completed application and passed the screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for an employment opportunity as a Custodian. This list will be certified to the appointing authority which may use this list to conduct interviews to fill a vacancy. Applicants will remain on the list for 90 days or until hired, whichever occurs first. A notice will be sent to applicants at the time the eligible list is posted.
The department may choose to interview any candidate on the eligible list.
Veteran's Preference: This is a classified position requiring an open, competitive selection process. Veteran's Preference points will be applied after a candidate passes the examination process. Applicants who are eligible for veteran's preference should update their veteran's DD214, and other supporting documents, and submit them as an attachment at the time of application.
Criminal Background Checks: All employment offers are conditioned upon the applicant passing a criminal background check. Convictions are not an automatic bar to employment.
