Are you detail-oriented, empathetic, and passionate about making a difference in healthcare? We’re seeking a Medical Collections Specialist to join a dynamic remote team. In this role, you’ll help patients navigate their financial responsibilities while ensuring accurate and timely collections.

What You’ll Do

+ Monitor and manage patient accounts with outstanding balances.

+ Contact patients via phone, email, and other channels to arrange payment plans or collect overdue amounts.

+ Research and resolve billing discrepancies, insurance denials, and payment posting issues.

+ Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations.

+ Document all collection activities accurately in the system.

+ Collaborate with internal teams (Billing, Customer Support, Clinical) to resolve account issues.

+ Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients regarding their financial responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For

+ Experience: 2+ years in medical collections, healthcare billing, or revenue cycle management.

+ Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes, and HIPAA compliance.

+ Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing software.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

+ Understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.

+ Prior experience in a fast-paced healthcare or telehealth setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
