    Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a _Water Systems Coordinator_ to join our Corporate Services & Communications team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power.     What does a** **Water Systems Coordinator** **do for us?

     

    Idaho Power’s Water System Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of Idaho Powers 44 drinking water systems. This includes treatment systems, water quality, and distribution networks. This position will manage system expectations and budgets, while ensuring regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local standards. This role requires expertise in water treatment processes, water quality control, and a strong understanding of relevant regulations.

    A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

    Knowledge of:

    + Project Management principles and theory

    Preferred:

    + Water filtration systems and how they work

    + Federal, State and local water regulations

    + Familiarity with engineering drawings and specifications

    + Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding worker safety and environmental protection

    Skills in:

    + Mechanical skills, electrical theory understanding

    + Proficient use of personal computers and MS Office software

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills

    + Detailed file management and record keeping skills, efficient time management

    + Strong coordination and negotiation skills

    Preferred:

    + Use project scheduling software such as MS Project

    + Compile and interpret data

    Ability to:

    + Plan, organize, and direct complex operations and diverse contracting teams and monitor multiple projects concurrently

    + Develop and maintain effective working relationships

    Preferred:

    + Form and lead cross functional teams on complex projects

    + Work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment and decision making

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

    + Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, project management, business or related field

    OR

    + An equivalent combination of education, experience and training

    Preferred:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering

    Experience:

    + 5 years of project management experience along with surface and subsurface water rights knowledge within Idaho and Oregon, including contract admin experience

    Preferred:

    + 7 years of project management experience along with surface and subsurface water rights knowledge within Idaho and Oregon, Including contract admin experience

    Licenses & Certifications:

    + Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

    + Ability to obtain Potable water certifications in Idaho and Oregon within 6 months of hire

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The Facilities Potable Water System Coordinator consists of office/computer work utilizing a sit-stand workstation and job site inspection which includes supervising contractors and inspecting through various stages of construction. This involves bending/stooping, crouching, and kneeling as well as occasional overhead reaching (to move ceiling tiles). A camera and flashlight are carried and used. Step ladders from 6-10 feet, weighing from 10-20 lbs. are carried and must be climbed to reach the roof. A work truck or rental car is driven to construction sites around Idaho.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Job requires. In addition, this position requires the ability to perform occasional field visits which will require work in an outdoor environment on uneven terrain and in all types of extreme weather conditions, work in and around fish hatchery facilities. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds such as files, laptop PCs, and various equipment; and work for long periods of time using a keyboard and computer monitor.
