Scope of Job
The Graduate Assistant will lead the Vaquero Step Up initiative and collaborate with students and campus partners to educate the Vaquero community on university policies, expectations, and community standards. This role focuses on preventative education, peer engagement, and policy awareness to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.
The Graduate Assistant will design and facilitate educational programs, workshops, and outreach efforts related to university policies, including but not limited to Hazing, Student Code of Conduct, Academic Integrity, Sexual Misconduct, Alcohol and Drug Policies, Discrimination and Harassment, and Bystander Intervention.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
+ Enrollment in a graduate program related to Social Work, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a closely related discipline
+ Demonstrated understanding of student development theory, ethical decision-making, or restorative practices
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and campus partners
+ Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience facilitating educational workshops, trainings, or group discussions
+ Knowledge of or interest in student conduct codes, behavioral interventions, or conflict resolution
+ Experience working with diverse, at-risk, or underserved student populations
+ Bilingual skills (preferred but not required)
