    We are seeking a **_Sr. Research Project Coordinator_** who will oversee the day-to-day activities of a single complex or multiple research projects and makes independent decisions that impact the conduct of the research. Assists in goal setting and creating implementation plans. Contributes to budget formulation, communications, and data systems.

     

    The Senior Research Project Coordinator will join the Center for Mental Health and Addiction Policy and support several studies led by Drs. Sachini Bandara and Alene Kennedy-Hendricks. These mixed method studies are focused on substance use and mental health, and on policy issues affecting special populations, including pregnant and parenting people, individuals with serious mental illness, and people involved in the criminal legal system.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities

    + Assist Principal Investigator or more senior research staff to ensure operational feasibility of proposed protocol/study design.

    + Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms based on understanding of underlying study design.

    + Develop or oversee design and implementation of study procedures and tools for data collection, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires; background research, laboratory processing, etc.

    + Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and applicable regulations.

    + Participate in developing study budget.

    + Set up data collection system and ensure validity of study data.

    + Organize and quality control study data

    + Recommend and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.

    + Conduct literature searches to provide background information.

    + Abstract and index information based on knowledge of subject matter.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    _In Addition to the Duties Above_

    + Will manage day-to-day project work

    + Assist with research tasks and disseminate results with policy and research partners.

    + The role includes frequent coordination with faculty, analysts, and external collaborators across multiple grants funded by NIH and foundations.

    + The coordinator must have the ability to work with diverse stakeholders in universities, criminal legal systems, community-based organizations, and advocacy.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

    + Three years of related experience.

    + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master's Degree in a related field.

    + Experience as a coordinator on NIH R01-level projects

    Starting Salary Range: $41,300 $72,300 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)
