    EWA Warrior Services, Sigma Defense company, is seeking a part-time, on-call Engineering Technician at White Sands Missile Range, NM to support test and training events locally and remote. The frequency of work is 5 - 10 times a year for 1 -5 weeks each time, totaling about 1500+ hours annually, including overtime hours.

    Requirements

    + Must be able to work outside on the range throughout the year where temperatures and weather conditions vary.

    + Physical requirements include:

    + Standing (45%)

    + Walking (25%)

    + Sitting (20%)

    + Reaching (5%)

    + Lifting 50 - 100 pounds independently or with the assistance of others (5%)

    + Crouching in tight spaces inside unit vehicle (10%)

    + Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime when called to work. Call-ins may be short notice, but shifts are required to support test missions.

    + Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.

    + Due to real-world, war-time environments, Technicians must be able to handle combat simulation and maneuvering exercises.

    + Technicians are exposed to loud noises including explosive devices, live gun fire/ammunitions firing war-time simulation, and loud noises generated from inside military vehicles during missions, troop support, and while working on the range.

    + Knowledgeable of networking and component configuration set-up, Electronic Warfare and troubleshooting are preferred.

    + Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment of military test events.

    + Experience working with the US Government or Military is preferred.

    + Work experience as a technician in any of the following fields is a plus:

    + Mechanic

    + Electrician

    + Communications Systems Repairman

    + Hydraulic/Pneumatic System Repairman

    + CDL Holder

    + A current Driver's License is required as the Technician must be insured through the company's vehicle insurance policy while operating company, government, and or rental vehicles during working hours through the duration of employment.

    + Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    Education Requirements:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Computer Programs/Software Experience:

    + Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer.

    Clearance Level:

    + Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a government-issued Secret security clearance.

    + A clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.

    Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities (Not all-inclusive):

    + Provide support of test events on military ranges which require knowledge of military protocol and standard operating procedures during FTX events.

    + Applying technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and computer skills in support of operations and routine maintenance on EW & Radar Systems and their peripheral equipment.

    + Setting up EW & Radar Systems at remote locations, operating the systems in support of test missions, and tearing down the systems once testing is completed.

    + Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within their scope of work.

     

    Engineering Technicians perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed and will select or adapt procedures or equipment using full applicable precedents- receiving instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed. Recurring work is performed independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

     

    Compensation: $24.96 per hour.

    + $4.57 per hour (in addition to hourly base rate listed above)
