Job Description

This RN will primarily serve as a flexible resource, stepping in wherever support is needed. Responsibilities may include assisting at the front desk to complete charting tasks or covering for RNs who are unavailable. When assigned to a specialty area, the RN will focus on one specialty at a time to ensure continuity and quality of care before rotating to another as needed. This approach allows for efficient coverage while maintaining a high standard of patient care and operational support.

• Meets with patients before chemotherapy to review their treatment plan and what to expect.

• Explains how chemotherapy works, how it’s given, and important safety steps for home.

• Reviews potential side effects and teaches patients how to manage them.

• Provides supportive resources and answers questions to reduce anxiety and build confidence.

• Acts as a communication bridge between physicians, nursing staff, and patients to ensure coordinated care.

• Documents all patient education and follow‑up accurately.

• Supports clinic flow and assists the team within a fast‑paced, high‑volume oncology environment.

• Empathetic, patient‑centered, and able to clearly explain complex information in simple terms.

Skills and Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred

• Minimum 2-3 year of RN experience.

• Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in Texas.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Previous outpatient experience
