    The Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Straub Medical Center is committed to providing professional, high quality care to patients and their families. Straub cardiothoracic surgeons perform a variety of general procedures as well as surgical procedures of the heart (cardiac bypass grafts, correct aortic aneurysms, implant cardiac pacemakers or defibrillators to treat cardiac arrhythmia, and replace defective heart valves), lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest.

     

    As a Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at Straub. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in our Cardiothoracic Surgery department and assist with a variety of administrative tasks. These include interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records; performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection. We are looking for someone sensitive and helpful, with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

    **Minimum Qualifications:** High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a health care setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.

    **Preferred Qualifications:** Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC. International Classification of Diseases 10th edition (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding certification. Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) experience.
