Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural** **hospital located** **in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
This position is located in the Abben Cancer Center a department of Spencer Hospital.
Responsibilities:
+ Assists patients in getting ready/changing for their radiation treatments
+ Provides assistance to Radiation Therapist and CT Sim Techs with treatment procedures
+ Helps with patient flow in/out of vault for treatments
+ Cleans patient care areas and prepares rooms before and after patients
+ Maintains a clean, organized, and therapeutic patient environment at all times
+ Answers Radiation Oncology phone and directs calls as appropriate
+ Schedules Radiation Oncology follow ups
+ Imports, prepares and maintains medical record for patients
+ Maintains patient confidentiality, including protection of the medical record, order communication data and all other verbal and written patient information
+ Assists with the transfer process of patients within the hospital and to external facilities
+ Participates in departmental cleaning activities as assigned
+ Follows appropriate cleaning standards including sanitation standards
+ Provides for appropriate transporting and re-stocking of supplies and other items related to department and patient care needs
Requirements:
+ Medical certification required: CNA, CMA or an alike health professional certification
+ Minimum 2 years healthcare experience
+ BLS required or willing to obtain upon hire - Inhouse education available
+ Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
Schedule:
+ 64 or 72 hr per pay period
+ Mon-Fri; 8a-4:30p
+ The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
