**If you are a Software Development professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an outstanding opportunity for you!** NI is now the Test & Measurement (T&M) Business Unit of Emerson, and we are seeking a **Software Engineer** to join our Platform Product R&D organization. In this role, you will collaborate with UX leads, product managers, and engineers to design and implement innovative solutions in an agile environment. You will contribute to developing the backend for our Nigel AI Advisor, working with technologies such as cloud development, AI prompt engineering, Kubernetes, and Python.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

+ Deliver product features by participating in research, design, development, and documentation efforts.

+ Collaborate with team members and project leaders on design discussions and code architecture.

+ Specify, design, and implement new product features.

+ Develop unit and automated functional tests to ensure high code quality and prevent regressions.

+ Participate in team activities including standups, backlog reviews, retrospectives, and brainstorming sessions.

+ Explore and apply new technologies to continually improve our infrastructure and processes.

For This Role, You Will Need:

+ A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

+ Understanding of software design and architecture principles, including:

+ Data structures

+ Object-oriented programming

+ Service-based architectures

+ Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

+ Experience programming in Python.

+ Familiarity with source code control tools (e.g., Git).

+ Ability to work productively in an Agile development environment.

+ Experience with cloud development, Docker, and Kubernetes.

+ Exposure to Azure DevOps.

+ Demonstrated ability to:

+ Diagnose technical issues and propose effective solutions.

+ Take initiative and work independently.

+ Drive tasks and projects to successful completion.

+ Learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively.
