GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Assists the External Affairs division, which includes Governmental Affairs, Communications and Economic Development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in researching a variety of topics and legislation related to electric cooperatives and the electric industry.
Assist in preparing reports, presentations and other content as directed.
Assist staff with outreach planning, coordination and execution.
Participates in brainstorming sessions.
Assist with the development of print, web-based on social medica communications content.
Assist with meetings and conferences.
The ability to communicate to diverse audiences on complex topics. The ability to handle stress and work well with others are stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.

Semi-repetitive type work which requires periods of concentration for varied time cycles as prescribed by the tasks. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Ability to learn other software programs and applications. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Video and/or social media communications skills a plus.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
