    Position Title: Director of Cardiac Care / Medical-Surgical Services

    **Location:** Panama City, FL

    **Compensation:** $105,000 – $125,000 annually, based on experience

    Position Overview

    The Director of Cardiac Care / Medical-Surgical Services provides strategic and operational leadership for inpatient cardiac and medical-surgical units. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating clinical operations to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support organizational goals, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure operational excellence.

     

    This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and oversees approximately 27 FTEs within a 24-bed unit with an average daily census of 18 patients.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide leadership for daily operations, planning, and coordination of cardiac and medical-surgical services

    + Drive performance improvement initiatives and ensure effective utilization of staff, equipment, and resources

    + Develop and maintain systems that support efficient patient flow across the continuum of care

    + Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote quality outcomes and patient satisfaction

    + Lead the development and implementation of patient and staff education programs

    + Evaluate and recommend new technologies, services, and clinical practices

    + Coordinate multidisciplinary care conferences for high-risk or medically complex patients

    + Oversee research initiatives in compliance with institutional review and regulatory standards

    + Develop short- and long-term departmental goals, programs, and project plans aligned with organizational objectives

    + Ensure operational efficiency while supporting facility-wide initiatives and strategic priorities

    + Recruit, hire, develop, and retain qualified staff; ensure compliance with EEO and affirmative action standards

    + Provide performance management, coaching, evaluations, and corrective action as needed

    + Maintain accountability for department outcomes, staff engagement, and quality metrics

    Qualifications

    + Minimum of 5 years of recent (within the last year) acute care RN leadership experience

    + Bachelor’s degree required

    + Active RN or APRN license required

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

    + Demonstrated leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and a collaborative management style

    **Pay Details:** $105,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
