Job Description
As an Industrial Hygienist, you will conduct asbestos and/or hazardous materials inspections and prepare the associated reports. You will be pivotal in ensuring the safety and compliance of pre-demolition inspections in various projects, including a significant undertaking in Gary, IN.
Responsibilities
+ Perform asbestos and/or HAZMAT inspection and sampling.
+ Prepare samples for laboratory analysis, including Chain of Custody documentation.
+ Review and interpret laboratory results.
+ Prepare asbestos and/or HAZMAT inspection reports.
+ Oversee and document asbestos and/or HAZMAT abatement operations.
+ Complete post-abatement verification inspections and prepare associated reports.
Essential Skills
+ A minimum of 2 years of experience in fields related to asbestos and/or HAZMAT surveys, sample preparation, and report writing.
+ Current State of Indiana Asbestos Inspector License or ability to take a refresher course to make it current.
+ Familiarity with EPA and EGLE standards, specifications, and guidelines.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite and the ability to use a tablet.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with air monitoring, lead assessment/risk analysis, and other industrial hygiene practices.
+ Experience with demolition projects.
Work Environment
The position offers a flexible work schedule from Monday to Friday, typically from 8 am to 5 pm, with an average work week of 40-50 hours. You will drive your own vehicle to project sites in the city of Gary and have access to a small field office in Gary for work-related tasks. Reimbursement for travel expenses is provided.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
