Job Title: Machine Operator

Pay: $24 - $26 an hour

Shift: 3rd shift (Fri - Sun)

Job Description

The role of Machine Operator involves both keeping production lines stocked with materials and handling shipping and receiving tasks by loading and unloading trucks. The operator will utilize a forklift to transport formed metal between the roll forming area and the secondary/utility area, load finished material into the warehouse, and onto trucks. Additional duties include bringing materials to work cells, moving bundles, racks, and emptying hoppers.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with setup, load, and/or unload parts from the production line.

+ Utilize good computer skills for inventory control and documentation of goods shipped and received.

+ Process paperwork efficiently.

+ Use hand tools to unload and load parts.

+ Pack finished goods for shipping.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with sit-down forklift operation.

+ Industrial or manufacturing experience.

+ Shipping and receiving experience.

+ Proficiency in computer skills for inventory control and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to handle material and load/unload machinery.

+ Experience with RF scanners, data entry, bills of lading, cycle counts, and inventory control.

+ Familiarity with warehouse forklifts and crane operation.

Work Environment

The work environment is within a manufacturing setting, which can vary from hot to cold conditions. It is an industrial setup, but not necessarily dirty or unpleasant. The management maintains a laid-back approach as long as employees are diligent in their duties. The company specializes in forming metal from flat-rolled steel, particularly for agricultural equipment such as international harvester tractors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shelbyville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
