Warehouse Associate

Job Description

The Warehouse Associate (Kitting) plays a crucial role in our operations by ensuring the accurate and efficient picking of materials and components necessary for data center equipment assembly. This position requires a focus on safety, quality, accuracy, and performance. Responsibilities include organizing and picking components such as sheet metal parts, weldments, electrical components, and fasteners, from both internally fabricated and incoming purchased parts. The Warehouse Associate is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse.

Responsibilities

+ Accurately read and interpret work orders, picking lists, or other instructions to determine required components or items for each kit.

+ Retrieve components from designated storage areas, ensuring proper quantity and quality.

+ Verify the accuracy of picked items against work orders or picking lists.

+ Package and assemble kits according to set standards, following established procedures and guidelines.

+ Label and mark packages or kits with appropriate identification information.

+ Maintain accurate records of kit assembly, tracking quantities, components, and any adjustments made.

+ Perform routine inventory checks and report any discrepancies or shortages.

+ Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

+ Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders.

+ Communicate any issues or delays in the kitting process to the supervisor or appropriate team members.

+ Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. by hand or use material handling equipment such as hand trucks or electric-powered forklifts.

MUST HAVE Skills

+ 3+ years of experience working in manufacturing/production environments.

+ 3+ years of shipping/receiving experience.

+ Data entry experience with either Microsoft Excel, WMS, and/or ERP/SAP systems.

+ Forklift experience (sit-down forklifts).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with kitting, RF scanners, and material handling.

Work Environment

The position operates on a day shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential overtime extending until 6 PM depending on needs. Saturdays are volunteer-based for overtime but can sometimes be mandatory. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the use of various equipment such as RF scanners and forklifts, and demands adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean workspace

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
