Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team at a large distribution center. You will primarily assist the install team by spotting and flagging them while on scissor lifts. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including the removal of plastics, cardboard, and other waste. You will also handle tasks such as using power tools, sweeping, running materials up the elevator using a pallet jack, and supporting project teams with commissioning, cleaning the warehouse, and facilitating camera installations.

Responsibilities

+ Spot and flag the install team while on scissor lifts.

+ Assist with the removal of plastics, cardboard, and additional waste.

+ Operate power tools and push brooms.

+ Run materials up the elevator utilizing a pallet jack.

+ Support project teams by commissioning and cleaning the warehouse.

+ Facilitate camera installations.

+ Move, strap, and catalog materials using pallet jacks.

+ Commission towers according to diagrams using hand and air-powered tools.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to lift 40-50 lbs consistently.

+ Experience working 8-hour shifts on hard cement floors.

+ Good attendance record.

+ Ability to take direction well.

+ Openness to working in multiple positions, from inventory to housekeeping.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in material handling, robotics, general labor, construction, loading, packaging, and cleaning.

Work Environment

Work in a vibrant Distribution Center which can be messy and loud at times, with a high level of visibility. Professionalism and presentability are required. Attire includes PPE such as high visibility vests, glasses, hard hats, gloves, earplugs, and composite toe shoes/boots. Jeans and t-shirts are acceptable, but avoid loose or baggy clothing.

This is a Contract position based out of Petersburg, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
