Job Title: Lead Lab Courier Department: Laboratory Location: Rochester Regional - Elmgrove Hours Per Week: Full-Time, 40 hours/week Schedule: Evening Shift

SUMMARY

The Lead Lab Courier executes courier route assignments maintaining specimen integrity in conjunction with NYS Health Department Regulations. Couriers must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner, promoting superior customer service and relations. Our Lead courier is responsible for handling incoming client calls while on the road and dispatching sample pickup requests to the appropriate couriers that are working. The Lead Courier also works closely with the Patient Service and Lab Processing teams, to troubleshoot any issues that arise outside of regular business hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Execute courier route assignments while driving a company vehicle maintaining specimen integrity in conjunction with NYS Health Department Regulations. Expedite pick-up and delivery of priority specimens.

+ Communicate regularly while executing route with Logistics Dispatch via Blu-tooth mobile phone in vehicle.

+ Conduct the operation of company vehicle complying with all federal, state and highway regulations.

+ Ability to perform independently, responsible for using sound judgment and problem-solving skills in relation to client issues.

+ Ability to be trained on and execute numerous routes in order to cover staff vacations, call-ins and provide great patient service throughout the week

+ Ability to be reassigned to a different route in the day/week in order to provide great patient service

+ Understand and follow company policies and procedures and respect patient confidentiality.

+ Document pick-up and delivery details carefully on Route Sheet and notify the coordinator of any equipment maintenance requirements.

+ Perform departmental procedures ensuring compliance with corporate, state, federal, OSHA and customer specification.

+ Ability to access, navigate and send/forward correspondence through computer related programs such as the Internet and E-Mail as well as maintain online Mandatory Education Requirements on a regular basis.

+ Participate in the training of new staff.

+ Assist with route development and look for opportunities for efficiencies.

+ Successfully receive and dispatch client requests for sample pickups while on the road, delegating needed pickups to the appropriate team of couriers on the road at that time.

+ Required to provide Dispatch coverage for Coordinator as needed, delegating client requests, scheduling pickups throughout the community and appropriately documenting in the web-based Dispatch App.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Valid New York State Driver’s License

+ Five years of driving experience

+ Previous customer service work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Friendly, kind and customer service oriented

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Ability to work independently and make decisions

+ Willingness to be flexible with scheduled shifts and routes as needed

+ Rochester area geographical knowledge preferred

+ Computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, basic web navigation

+ Demonstrates leadership to manage off-shift staff members and/or dispatching needs

+ 1yr RRH Logistics experience

+ Dispatching experience

EDUCATION:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

NYS DL - valid New York State Driver's License - New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
