The Department of Drama within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach DRA 451 Theater Immersion and Analysis, a three credit hour course as part of the Tepper Semester in New York, during the Spring semester, 2025. This course will meet on Fridays from 10:00am – 12:00pm, with Tuesday and Thursday evening theater watching.
Seeking an instructor to lead one section of the course that is designed to introduce students to New York Theater scene and teach them how to become aware of the distinctions between: opinion, review, critique and analysis. To develop critical thinking skills, to deepen our understanding of how productions are made.
Students will practice these skills by attending all assigned productions and participating in our weekly class. Class discussions will focus on identifying the intention of each production and discussing whether or not the intention was fulfilled. Discussions and exercises will help us understand artistic decision making Students will be encouraged to expand their artistic aesthetic. Students will be encouraged to be generous humans.
