Summary You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the SUPPLY MATERIAL SUPPORT DIVISION, SUPPLY DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will analyze work-hour requirements to recommend the most economical use of financial resources and identify possible trade-offs to satisfy requirements. You will continue contacts with contractors, engineering, production shop, personnel in other agencies, and vendors to coordinate efforts to satisfy support needs. You will serve as the focal point within the Supply Department for immediate information and expertise on problems and requirements of assigned projects. You will perform recurring kinds of assignments, operations, and/or procedures in resolving issues and problems of a procedural nature in supply operations, planning, or program management. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience contacting and coordinating with outside vendor bases to analyze the levels of readiness being maintained. *Experience identifying problems and deficiencies in logistics support and providing assistance in increasing support effectiveness. *Experience continuing contacts with contractors, engineering, production shop, personnel in other agencies, and vendors to coordinate efforts to satisfy support needs. *Experience maintaining inventory control records in an automated system for parts needed in support of shop stores program. *Experience evaluating fluctuations in rates of usage and adjusts procurement lead times for approved transactions. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience preparing and presenting briefings, reports, analyses, and recommendations. *Experience developing, analyzing, and maintaining management information. *Experience assuring the coordination of the support that is required for on time supportability of material. *Experience developing and analyzing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. *Experience planning and coordinating changes and future actions with technical and program specialists and subordinate commands and units. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-11 master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related GS-09 Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related NOTE: One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. Are you using your education to qualify?
