We are looking for a Senior Director of Advanced Energy Systems! NVIDIA's data centers host ground-breaking products across high-performance computing to machine learning applications for autonomous vehicles and healthcare. At the heart of our data centers is the ability to engineer integrated system designs in close coupling to NVIDIA's industry-leading GPU products. We are seeking a Senior Director of Advanced Energy Systems to accelerate next-generation solutions.
The Senior Director of Advanced Energy Systems for AI Factories defines and delivers the end-to-end energy vision that enables large-scale AI datacenter growth worldwide. This role blends deep power-system economics, utility operations expertise, and commercial expertise to enable energy for rapidly growing global AI Factories. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where energy sectors, policy frameworks, and next-generation technology are considered together to facilitate a coherent, durable energy strategy.
What you’ll be doing:
+ Define and lead the global energy strategy for AI Factories, including grid interconnection, energy sources, and distributed energy systems.
+ Lead all aspects of commercial energy execution, including evaluation and negotiation of utility service agreements, PPAs, storage solutions, carbon-removal contracts, and the energy portions of datacenter site selection and leasing.
+ Work with government relations to facilitate regulatory and policy engagements by influencing market rules to support reliable and scalable energy options to enable AI Factories
+ Conduct energy market and power-systems analysis, providing economic modeling, risk assessment, and portfolio valuation to inform investment decisions and optimize long-term cost and reliability.
+ Partner with utilities and engineering teams to align interconnection planning, transmission, distribution requirements, and operational timelines with AI Factory energy needs.
+ Evaluate emerging energy technologies and advise on the integration of innovative solutions—such as advanced storage and grid-enhancing technologies—into future energy portfolios.
+ Lead commercial, regulatory, engineering, and analytical disciplines to implement a coordinated global energy strategy.
What we need to see:
+ MS in Energy Engineering, or Power Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
+ 12+ overall years of experience in energy systems and business leadership.
+ 5+ years of demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and execute sophisticated commercial and regulatory initiatives.
+ Experience negotiating energy-supply agreements, evaluating grid-interconnection options, and supporting large-scale infrastructure planning.
+ Strong track record of engaging with utility commissions, federal regulators, and grid operators.
+ Experience with global power ecosystems, fuels, and transmission systems.
+ Practical experience with utility planning and operational programs.
+ Skilled in financial modeling, contracts, and risk evaluation for energy-related transactions.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
+ Deep expertise in power-system economics, utility ratemaking, and energy markets.
+ Comfortable operating at the intersection of engineering, markets, and policy.
