Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a VDC Lead for a leading electrical preconstruction and construction services company. This position will be full-time onsite in Los Alamitos, CA. The VDC Lead will report directly to the Director of Preconstruction. The VDC Lead will be responsible for leading the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) modeling process and initiatives, ensuring the successful implementation of advanced technologies to keep projects on schedule and within budget. This role requires expertise in modeling electrical systems in 3D for the construction industry and advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks. Responsibilities include coordinating closely with project teams to acquire drawings, specifications, schedules, and project files; providing guidance and oversight to ensure deliverables are met; and resolving constructability issues through collaboration with project managers. The VDC Lead will participate in project kickoff meetings to clarify scope, prefabrication opportunities, and cost-saving strategies, while mentoring team members to ensure projects are completed on time and according to standards.

Skills and Requirements

2–5 years of VDC/BIM experience in electrical construction.

Has been responsible for leading the electrical modeling process through coordination meetings and clash detection

Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks Manage, with strong working knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and related software add-ins.

Advanced knowledge of modeling electrical systems in 3D for prefabrication and MEP coordination.

Ability to read and interpret electrical construction and design documents accurately.

High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or technical certification preferred).

Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and meet project deadlines.
