    The Tool Crib Attendant manages inventory, issues tools and equipment, and ensures proper maintenance and organization within the tool crib. May work with engineering to identify and make corrections to tool print.

     

    Shift/Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

     

    Compensation

     

    The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $19.67 to $26.22. The exact rate may be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education

    Essential Functions

    Tool Inventory

     

    + Maintains accurate records of tools and equipment, including tracking distribution and users.

    + Ensures tools are properly stored and organized

    + Orders new tools and equipment as needed (cutting P.O.s)

    + Identifies and reports missing, damaged or unsafe tools.

     

    Tool Issuance and Return

     

    + Issues tools and equipment to employees, ensuring proper procedures are followed

    + Collects returned tools and ensures they are in good condition

     

    Maintenance and Inspection

     

    + Inspecting tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage

    + Perform minor repairs or scheduling necessary maintenance

    + Ensures tools are properly calibrated and maintained

     

    Record Keeping

     

    + Maintain accurate records of tool issuances, returns, and inventory levels

    + Update inventory databases or systems

     

    Safety

     

    + Adheres to all safety procedures and regulations

    + Ensures the tool crib is a safe, organized and secure workspace

    + Follow all safety procedures when handling tools and equipment

     

    Other

     

    + May include delivering tools and equipment to various departments and technicians

    + May mark and identify tools and equipment.

    + Assist technicians with tooling requirements

    Required

    + High School Diploma or equivalent GED

    + Proficient in using computers and computer applications

    + Familiarity and experience using ERP systems

    + Prior experience in a tool crib, inventory control, or manufacturing environment

    + Understanding of common hand tools and equipment

    + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    + Ability to follow instructions and procedures

    + Basic math skills

    + Ability to communicate effectively

     

    Preferred

     

    + 2+ years of related experience

    + Experience using computer based and manual tool setters

    Strength Level Rating: Medium work. Work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

     

    A worker in this job will frequently (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time):

    + Reach by extending hands and arms

    + Handle objects by seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hands

    + Pick, pinch, or otherwise work primarily with fingers

    + Talk by expressing or exchanging communication by means of the spoken work to impart oral information

    + Hear by perceiving the nature of sounds by ear

    + Have near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less

    The worker will occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time):

    + Climb such as ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc. Where body agility is emphasized

    + Maintain balance to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching when moving about on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces

    + Stoop by bending body downward and forward requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles

    + Kneel by bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s)

    + Crouch by bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine

    + Judge distances and spatial relationships (see objects three-dimensionally)

    + Adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus; and identify and distinguish colors
