    Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i.     Our Psychiatrists and Psychologists offer a full range of clinical services for adults, adolescents, children and families who are experiencing emotional, personal or social difficulties. They provide a broad array of therapy techniques—including individual, couple and family therapy—to treat mood disorders, psychosomatic complaints, depression, stress-related problems, phobias, anxiety and panic disorders and serious psychiatric illness. Medicine is prescribed when required. Straub's staff offers psychological testing, group therapy, behavior modification, cognitive therapy, relaxation training, and hypnosis. Psychiatric hospitalization is available when needed.

     

    Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Medical Social Services or designee, provides assessment, counseling services, and referral services to patients and their families. Will implement, develop, and evaluate patient care and social services. LCSW service includes assisting patients and their families in understanding and coping with the emotional and social problems affecting their health status. Provides assessment of patients, and counseling to patients with mental health issues.

    **Minimum Qualifications:** Master’s Degree in Social Work. Must meet education requirements for Hawai‘i state licensing. Current Hawai‘i Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW). Current American Heart Association BLS/HCP card. Two (2) years of experience in a LCSW role. Professional knowledge of loss, illness, and disability issues.
