    Starcom **Insights and Strategy** is the fuel for designing meaningful connections with people and brands in culturally relevant ways. We combine creativity and data to uncover differentiating insights that drive business growth for our clients. We have innate curiosity to explore, interrogate and synthesize all forms of data to help us determine what makes people tick. Our department combines the clarity of data with human understanding to create valuable connections that move people and move business. Through rigor and intelligence, we understand why and how people make decisions and explore how these decisions occur within the context of culture. We design audience strategies and frameworks to inform Paid media planning.

     

    The Associate Director, Insights and Strategy will champion a people-first approach to unearth actionable insights for a major CPG client. The Associate Director is responsible for diagnosing business, audience, category and cultural dynamics to inform media strategy. The Associate Director will be a key connection point between insight, strategy, planning, investment and measurement to ensure proper audience usage and optimization. This role focuses on data-driven storytelling that can translate into actionable and addressable audience strategies. Cornerstones of this role include collaborating with cross-functional teams, proactively educating internal and external teams on the value of data-driven audience insights, and guiding how to best unlock value/leverage available data platforms for insight generation and audience application.

    Responsibilities

    Role Objectives

    Insights:

    + Analyze and connect the dots between diverse and disparate data sets to derive meaningful and actionable insights

    + Unearth data-driven insights into category, brand, competitive, and cultural landscape

    + Develop audience frameworks, identifying the role of growth audiences, demand spaces and addressable targets

    + Develop recommendations for US priority audiences, including defining, sizing, valuing based on audiences’ contribution to business outcomes

    + Profile audiences to gain a rich understanding of their behaviors, interests, attitudes, fandoms, motivations and barriers to purchase

    + Work with planning and investment teams to provide qualitative in-platform proxy audiences

    Strategy:

    + Build solid audience strategies keeping in mind the needs of the rest of the ecosystem – planning, investment and measurement

    + Develop connections/comms framework to inform PESO plan development in alignment with strategic audience insights

    + Assist in developing and presenting client-ready strategy presentations inclusive of data visualization and storytelling

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree

    + 5+ years in media/marketing/consumer research, consumer insight, business consulting

    + Experience with multiple methodological approaches (social listening, syndicated tools, primary and secondary research) and a thorough understanding of the vast data ecosystem + tools

    + Experience with 1:1 Identity solutions preferred e.g. Epsilon

    + Experience with designing concise and effective research plans, deploying plans from survey writing, programming, analysis, through to presentation of findings preferred

    + Experience with effective survey writing in line with industry best practices

    + Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets

    + Experience in data visualization and/or data visualization tools such as Tableau

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Excellent Microsoft Office skills; PowerPoint and advanced Excel

    + Ability to manage a team, effectively manage priorities and be accountable for collective team output

    The benefits offerings listed are available to U.S. based employees, are reviewed on an annual basis, and are governed by the terms of the applicable plan documents.

     

    Compensation Range: $105,165 - $151,095 annaully. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
