    As an Electronic Medical Records Technician, you will be part of a team of HIM professionals dedicated to ensuring integrity, accessibility, and compliance of patient health records. This is an entry-level position within the Health Information Management department.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    + Location: ONSITE at Presbyterian Medical Center.

    + Schedule - Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, rotating weekends and holidays.

    + Support on-site HIM workflows within acute care HIM Departments.

    + Provide customer service to callers/visitors to the HIM Departments as appropriate.

    + Perform record pulling/ordering from offsite vendor.

    + Perform discharge unit rounding, document assessment/prepping, and limited release of information to support continuum of care requests.

    + Perform HIMSS7 workflow and discharge scanning as needed and may be assigned additional on-site HIM duties as necessary to maintain fluid departmental operations.

     

    What You’ll Need

    Required:

    + High School Diploma or GED.

    + 1+ years of experience in a hospital medical records department, or equivalent work experience with similar work assignments, roles, and responsibilities.

    + Excellent analytical and customer service skills.

    + Able to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation, competency testing, and standardized productivity metrics/goals.

    + Able to multitask and work independently with limited supervision.

    + Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.

    + Comfortable in a computer-based workflow, with working knowledge and/or familiarity with acute care medical records and hospital regulatory environment.

    + Able to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.

    Preferred:

    + Experience with the EPIC EHR and/or Hyland On Base scanning application.
