    HPD is entrusted with fulfilling these objectives through the goals and strategies of “Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness,” Mayor Adams’ comprehensive housing framework. To support this important work, the administration has committed $5 billion in new capital funding, bringing the 10-year planned investment in housing to $22 billion the largest in the city’s history. This investment, coupled with a commitment to reduce administrative and regulatory barriers, is a multi-pronged strategy to tackle New York City’s complex housing crisis, by addressing homelessness and housing instability, promoting economic stability and mobility, increasing homeownership opportunities, improving health and safety, and increasing opportunities for equitable growth.

    Your Team:

    The Office of Asset and Property Management (APM) leads the agency’s effort to protect the City’s investment in affordable housing and ensure that properties remain stable and affordable over the long term. APM actively monitors the performance and regulatory compliance of projects sponsored, supervised, and owned by the City, and connects people to affordable housing opportunities.

     

    The Office of Asset and Property Management (APM) is composed of three divisions: Asset Management, Housing Supervision, and Co-op Readiness & Technical Services.

    Your Impact:

    As the Administrative Assistant for the Deputy Commissioner of the Executive Office within the Office of Asset and Property Management (APM). This role will provide a wide range of high-level administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient functioning of the office.

    Your Role:

    Your role will be to provide administrative and clerical support to the Deputy Commissioner and the Executive team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Retain knowledge of all aspects of APM to accurately disseminate information.

    - Manage the complex schedules of the Deputy Commissioner

    - Create and modify documents and reports using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).

     

    - Provide clerical support to the executive office.

     

    - Prepare, organize, and track reports to ensure deadlines are met.

     

    - Liaise with executive and senior management to manage requests and inquiries.Maintain and update internal and external contact databases office-wide.

     

    - Research databases to appropriately direct calls from agency personnel and the public sector.

     

    - Requisition, monitor, and distribute supplies across multiple divisions within APM.

     

    - Track and manage the budget for office-wide training needs.

     

    - Assist with, resolve, and/or refer constituent complaints to appropriate staff.

     

    - Maintain organized and concise files for the office.

     

    - Schedule appointments, respond to and route telephone calls, and greet/assist visitors in a professional and pleasant manner.

    Preferred skills:

    - Proficiency with computers and programs such as MS Office Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint

     

    - Strong problem solving; critical thinking and verbal/ written communication skills

     

    - Detailed oriented, effective time management and organizational skills

     

    - Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, performing work in an independent environment

    Qualifications

    Qualification Requirements

    1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or

    2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
