Job Summary and Qualifications
•The Dialysis Care Technician (DCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated patient care services related to treating patients in need of renal replacement therapy (all types of dialysis). Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the DCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the DCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the dialysis care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The DCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
Your responsibilities will include:
+ Helping patients with daily needs, moving around safely, checking vital signs, collecting samples, and getting ready for dialysis
+ Setting up, operating, and cleaning dialysis equipment safely and keeping accurate logs
+ Keeping treatment areas clean, organized, and safe by following infection prevention and safety protocols
+ Speaking kindly and clearly with patients, families, and your team so everyone feels informed and valued
+ Assisting with basic clerical tasks that keep patient records and unit operations running smoothly
+ Continually learning new skills and safety practices so you can always give your best care
What qualifications you will need:
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support
+ High School Graduate / GED
+ CNA training program preferred
+ +1 year of experience in a acute care setting preferred
+ +1 year of dialysis experience preferred
