Description:
Purpose
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, including assessments of the patient's needs, allergies, and current medications.
Administer medications, such as sedatives and pain medication, as necessary.
Monitor patient vital signs during the procedure.
Assist the physician during the procedure.
Provide patient and family education on endoscopic procedures and post-procedure care.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and procedure.
Provides pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure care to patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
Assists physicians performing therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopic procedures; assuring optimal patient safety and comfort.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection prevention policies and protocols.
Minimum requirements
+ Maintains license with appropriate continuing education as required by state law.
+ BLS and ACLS required.
+ Previous experience in endoscopy nursing preferred.
+ Knowledge of endoscopic procedures, equipment, and medications preferred.
+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Able to work independently and as part of a team.
