Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Job Description:
+ The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work approximately 60 hours per week, traveling to field sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel heavy equipment. Responsibilities will include working on pump and power systems, HVAC, hydraulic systems, cylinders, and swapping engines. While in the field, mechanics will repair or replace equipment as needed to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. Flexibility to perform general labor tasks on job sites is required, including assisting with temporary systems setup. Electrical knowledge is necessary for diagnosing issues such as shorts. Training on well-point systems is available. Mechanics must be willing to travel across three states, with stays of up to two weeks. A company truck, daily per diem, and lodging are provided.
Responsibilities:
+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel heavy equipment in the field.
+ Work on pump and power systems, HVAC, hydraulic systems, cylinders, and engine swapping.
+ Perform repairs or replacements to complete tasks efficiently.
+ Assist with general labor tasks on job sites as needed.
+ Set up and maintain temporary systems during construction phases.
+ Diagnose electrical issues, such as shorts.
+ Travel across three states for up to two weeks at a time, with per diem and lodging provided.
Essential Skills:
+ 5+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
+ 5+ years of experience working on diesel equipment.
+ Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment such as man-lifts, skid steers, excavators, and off-road trucks.
+ Strong mechanical, repair, electrical, and hydraulic skills.
+ Ability to work independently and be trustworthy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ Ability to weld is a plus.
+ Previous experience as a service technician (e.g., Vermeer, Pioneer, Beard Equipment).
+ Must pass MVR to drive company truck.
Work Environment:
The role requires the ability to work over 60 hours a week, including weekends on occasion, and being on-call. Must have own tools and be comfortable with a flexible schedule, including last-minute travel. The position primarily operates Monday through Friday, but flexibility is key.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
