    Salary: $18.25/Hour Minimum

    Report Times: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

    Daily Hours: 8 (7.5 Paid)

     

    Work Year: 44 weeks

     

    Supervisor: Building Principal

     

    Civil Service Title: Office Clerk II

    Minimum Requirements:

    Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

    (A) Graduation with an Associate’s degree or successful completion of at least sixty (60) credit hours from a college or university; OR,

     

    (B) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience*; OR,

     

    (C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

     

    *Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.

     

    NOTE: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the Internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm. You must pay the required evaluation fee.

     

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: If you are appointed, you will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.

    Desired Qualifications:

    Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

    Verbal Communication: The ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and professionally over the phone and in person with students, stressed parents, teachers, and administrators;

     

    Customer Service Orientation: Serving as the welcoming "face" of the school; maintaining a pleasant, helpful, and professional demeanor, even when handling difficult or frustrated individuals.

    Attention to Detail:

    Meticulous accuracy in recording student information, processing financial data, and proofreading official correspondence. Errors in student records can have serious long-term consequences.

    Time Management:

    Juggling multiple responsibilities from managing Admins calendar to coordinating different types of projects and processing mail within tight school day deadlines.

    Technology:

    Have an understanding of google platform.

    Position Summary/Responsibilities:

    Specific operational area of the school, most commonly student discipline, attendance, activities, and student services;

     

    Calendar Management;

     

    Different building wide projects such as graduation, opening and closing of school, Regents Testing;

     

    All other duties as assigned.
