    Job Title: Quality Engineer – Aviation Mechanical ManufacturingAbout the Role

     

    We are looking for a skilled Quality Engineer to support our aviation mechanical manufacturing operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards for precision-machined components, structural assemblies, and mechanical systems. You will work closely with engineering, production, and suppliers to maintain rigorous quality standards and drive continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Develop and maintain quality plans for mechanical components and assemblies, including inspection criteria for machined parts, castings, and structural elements.

    + Review and approve manufacturing work instructions and process documentation to ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO standards.

    + Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering changes, validating processes through statistical tools such as DOE and capability studies.

    + Conduct and update PFMEA and control plans for mechanical products.

    + Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer-reported issues.

    + Perform dimensional inspections using precision tools and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

    + Audit and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance across all mechanical manufacturing processes.

    + Collaborate with suppliers on quality performance, including audits and corrective actions for mechanical parts.

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) based on KPI trends and process capability.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

    + 3+ years of experience in aerospace or aviation mechanical manufacturing quality engineering.

    + Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, and related quality standards.

    + Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and statistical process control (SPC).

    + Proficiency in GD&T, precision measurement techniques, and inspection tools such as CMM.

    + Experience managing and leading quality inspectors

    + Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma methodologies.

    + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

    + Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and ITAR compliance.

    + Hands-on experience in machining, assembly, and fabrication environments.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollywood, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
