Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Materials Lab Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for receiving samples, running dimensional analysis reports using specialized microscopes, and operating a hydraulic machine press to stress test materials and prepare the samples. This role also involves potentially performing lab experiments, supporting inventory and parts management, and developing standards.
Responsibilities
+ Perform tasks on projects related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis, including experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting.
+ Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment.
+ Work in one or more areas of technical expertise to develop the capability of working independently on project activities while performing work under the supervision of the project investigator.
+ Assist more experienced technicians, technologists, and professionals with technical assignments.
+ Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects.
+ Record research activities performed in a lab book.
+ Set up and run laboratory experiments.
+ Analyze test specimens.
+ Perform other duties as assigned, such as solution preparation, cleaning test cells, moving items throughout the lab, and calibrating equipment following a prescribed procedure.
Must Have Skills
+ Experience in hydraulics testing and machine operation.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and utilize tools.
+ Experience in inventory, materials, and parts management.
+ Chemistry experience or knowledge, either from a degree or work experience, is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Understanding of a lab environment.
+ Background in chemical engineering and chemical testing.
+ Experience in materials testing.
Work Environment
You will work in a lab setting with 12 other technicians. Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a flexible start time between 7 AM and 9 AM. Overtime is common, and you can expect to work beyond the regular hours regularly. The position is on a 6-12 month contract, with the potential to convert to a direct role. This lab, located in Dublin, is unique as it sits between research and production labs, offering varied projects and significant exposure to international business, including upstream work and renewable energy projects. The lab is one of the largest globally for hydrogen corrosion testing and also conducts CO2 capture, transfer, and storage testing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dublin, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
