Job Title: Civil Engineer – Residential Land Development

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to lead the preparation of construction drawings for single-family residential developments. In this role, you will supervise a design team, ensure high-quality deliverables, and utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce accurate and efficient designs.

Responsibilities

+ Manage and oversee the development of construction drawings for residential projects.

+ Lead and guide the design team in creating plans for paving, grading, storm drainage, detention, water, and wastewater systems, under the direction of the Project Manager.

+ Generate and refine 3D surfaces using survey data and project specifications.

+ Develop surfaces from alignments and profiles to ensure precision in design.

+ Maintain organized design files for smooth collaboration across the project team.

+ Coordinate with internal teams and municipal staff to facilitate reviews and secure permits.

+ Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

+ Minimum 3 years of civil design experience, including:

+ Private single-family residential developments in the DFW area.

+ Construction plan production using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

+ Licensed E.I.T in Texas, or ability to obtain licensure within one year.

+ Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills

+ Experience with subdivision design, grading, drainage, and land development.

+ Familiarity with local permitting processes and municipal coordination.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
