  • Fire Suppression Tech II

    Jacobs (Atlanta, GA)

    Apply Now

At Jacobs, we challenge what is currently accepted, so we can shape innovative and lasting solutions for tomorrow. Through the delivery of our operations and maintenance services, you’ll make it simpler and more seamless for our municipal clients to operate safely and efficiently, empowering communities to focus on what matters most to them - people.

We are searching for a Fire Systems Technician at the Atlanta Airlines Terminal (AAT) Project’s fire suppression team provides critical testing, inspection, servicing, preventive maintenance, and repair services to our client - the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Company (AATC) at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (H-JAIA). These services are provided through work order assignments, special project assignments and client requirements consistent with NFPA, OSHA, state of Georgia, and city of Atlanta Fire Marshal requirements. This position recruitment is for a lead fire suppression technician, who will report to the AAT Project fire suppression superintendent. The AAT Project operates 3 shifts daily on a 24/7/365 schedule. Other work scheduling requirements may also apply to meet client or project requests, seasonal weather events, or other special conditions.

Special Considerations for Advancement to Fire Suppression Technician Level III

The fire suppression lead must meet the requirements of a fire suppression technician level II. However, it is project leadership’s desire to see the fire suppression lead achieve the NICET Level I certification within 12 months of accepting the fire suppression lead responsibilities. In addition, if the fire suppression lead, at the time NICET Level I training is completed and the certification awarded, meets the requirements of the fire suppression technician level III, the fire suppression lead will be promoted to the level III position. Any costs associated with completion of the NICET Level I training and certification will be reimbursed when the certification is successfully obtained. As noted in the "Experience Required" section below, NICET Level I certification is preferred, but it is not required to be selected for the lead position. However, it is project leadership’s desire to offer this incentive for professional development to the fire suppression lead, as well as to strengthen the project’s delivery of high quality fire system maintenance services to AATC.
