Position Summary:
Serves as an academic advisor and assists students with planning and registration as well as related
Student Affairs initiatives.
Examples of Duties
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides academic advisement and registration assistance to new and returning students,
including providing assistance with career and transfer planning individually and in group settings
Responds to inquiries regarding advising, registration and retention efforts
Prepares assessment and college related reports as needed by your supervisor
Leads in the development of programming and support services
Collaborates with external organizations in providing resources
Coordinates and schedules academic success workshops
Assist with processing cancelled courses as needed
Processes Early Alert and Academic Probation referrals
Maintains files and performs clerical functions as it related to your programmatic responsibilities
Provides program support and academic advisement at participating high schools during the Jump Start Program
Facilitates workshops on generic topics to enhance student success, including career workshops
Provides support for Student Affairs sponsored events
Performs related duties as assigned
Program Duties:
Serves as coordinator for retention, advising, and enrollment strategies for assigned caseloads, including academic monitoring, career exploration, and connection to essential
campus resources.
Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and other departments to transform
academic advising, strengthen first-year experience initiatives, and deliver programs like
orientation, workshops, and transfer fairs.
Plan and coordinate services and activities that promote persistence, completion, and a
culture of student support.

Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
+ Higher Education employment experience preferred
+ Experience working with Ellucian's Colleague management information system preferred Competencies and Skills:
+ Strong communication and organizational skills
+ Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint and Excel
+ Ability to thrive in a team environment
