CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Software Engineer position for our client.
**Location:** Chapel Hill, NC
**Duration:** Ongoing Contract
Duties:
+ Design, build, implement, and support medium-scale or multiple small software solutions with architectural guidance.
+ Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
+ Develop and maintain client-side and server-side components using Object-Oriented principles in C, C++, or Java.
+ Build modern user interfaces using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
+ Develop RESTful microservices leveraging JSON, Swagger, and cloud-native architectures.
+ Work within an Agile development environment and collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams.
+ Utilize continuous integration and delivery pipelines, including automated builds, testing, and deployments.
+ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one product or solution area.
+ Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and promote best practices.
+ Support sales and pre-sales efforts as directed, including proof-of-concepts, solution brainstorming, and demonstrations.
+ Author and review technical documentation including functional specifications, test plans, test cases, and release notes.
Skills:
+ Strong proficiency in C, C++, or Java within enterprise and cloud-based environments.
+ Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and development principles.
+ Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
+ Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
+ Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, and automated testing tools (e.g., Cucumber, Selenium).
+ Modern web development expertise using HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and contemporary JavaScript frameworks.
+ Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and SVN.
+ Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
+ Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
+ Working knowledge of Windows- and Linux-based operating systems, including installation, light administration, and scripting.
+ Retail domain knowledge, including store operations, POS concepts, and retail POS devices, is preferred.
Experience:
+ 5+ years of professional software development experience in a C, C++, or Java-based environment.
+ 5+ years of Object-Oriented software development experience.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
