    Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, English, or a related field.

    + Minimum of five years of professional writing or communications experience, with a strong background in writing for senior executives, government leaders, or CEOs.

    + Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills with proven ability to craft clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.

    + Proven discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive matters.

    + Demonstrated success in speech writing and narrative development for live and digital formats.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

    + Familiarity with higher education, public affairs, or mission-driven organizations.

    + Strong understanding of presentation design and digital communication tools.

    Job Description

    Develop marketing and communications strategy that drives increased awareness and engagement with internal and external audiences.

    Job Duties

    + Strategic and Executive Communications – Research, write, and edit speeches, remarks, video scripts, op-eds, and correspondence for the President, Vice President, and senior leaders.

    + Content Development and Editorial Support – Develop consistent messaging that reflects university priorities and mission; manage updates to executive web pages, bios, and statements; draft formal letters and digital communications.

    + Issues and Reputation Management – Provide strategic counsel on tone, timing, and message discipline; support crisis communications planning and rapid response messaging.

    + Collaboration and Institutional Engagement – Partner with departments to ensure message alignment; contribute to university-wide communication planning and strategic initiatives.
