    + JOB REQUIREMENTS

    + Education

    + Must have the ability to read, write, take verbal instruction and perform basic arithmetic.

    + Experience

    + No experience is required however, previous hospital experience is preferred. Licensed driver for at least two years with a good driving record, no moving violations or accidents. Must be 21 years of age or older.

    + Physical

    + Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing within normal range. Oral communication. Operates computer, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Requires – Mobility, sight, hearing, verbal communication, changes in temperature, exposure to disagreeable elements, (dusts, fumes, odors, water, etc.) exposure in biological, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping. Lifting up to 100lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs via a piece of equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include visual acuity corrected to 20/20. Hearing must be within normal range. Manual dexterity and mobility should be proficient: Must be able to write type and use phone system.

    + JOB SUMMARY

    + The driver-transport is responsible for the safe, courteous, and efficient transport of participants and patients to designated locations. This role includes maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness, assisting patients with transfers, supporting equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and organizational standards. Must communicate effectively with nursing and department staff, physicians, department managers, and riders. The driver –transport promotes good public relations for St. Bernards Healthcare. Performs various duties and assists in the care of the patient as assigned by the Director or Manager.
