    Job Summary

The Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences is seeking an Assistant Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to our pioneering research in plasma physics. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of research projects, including:

    1. Kinetic theory for non-neutral plasmas in antimatter traps, including the strong magnetization and strong coupling conditions found in these experiments.

    2. Conducting molecular dynamics simulations to compute plasma transport properties in strongly magnetized plasmas.

    3. Collaborating with experimentalists to design experiments to test the model predictions for transport rates.

The role will also involve publishing and presenting research findings in top-tier scientific journals and conferences, participating in instructional activities and course lectures as appropriate, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and serving on dissertation committees.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of developing independent research proposals, and will contribute to the academic and professional community through continuous scholarly activities and collaborations and mentoring and teaching activities with undergraduate and graduate students.
